Jeff Heely

November 2012- Present: Managing Member/Founder of Heely Capital. Heely Capital assists companies through active management participation, investments, and advisory services.

August 2005- November 2012: Senior Managing Director Advanced Equities, Inc. Jeff served as a Senior Managing Director at AEI; primarily focused on arranging private financings for top-tier Venture Capital backed companies. Jeff worked with institutional investors including private and public pension funds, hedge funds, endowments, foundations, and consultant driven investors. He negotiated terms and led several financings in technology, clean energy, and the tele-communications spaces.

September 2001-August 2005: Investor. Jeff was the CEO of Baystar Investment Management, a roll-up of hedge fund of funds; MD at Hela Capital, a financial services venture capital fund, and invested in a number of private companies.

August 2000- September 2001: CEO and President Financial Interactive. Jeff served as CEO and President in leading FI, a technology company providing CRM solutions in the alternative investment space. This venture capital backed company was acquired by SSNC technologies which was later acquired by Carlysle Group.

April 1999- August 2000: COO Eastbourne Capital. Eastbourne Capital managed the Black Bear hedge funds, operating a 3c1, 3c7, offshore and Japanese managed account. Lifting out of Bank of America in April 1999, Eastbourne Capital managed in excess of $1 billion in an equity long/short fundamental strategy.

February 1997- March 1999: Robertson Stephens/Bank of America, head of Alternative Investments Sales and Marketing. Mr. Heely was responsible for all institutional sales and marketing efforts of alternative investment products at Robertson Stephens Investment Management. After Bank of America acquired Robertson Stephens and Co in August of 1997, Mr. Heely also assumed the duties of training private bankers at Bank of America regarding the inclusion of alternative investments in private banking relationships.

July 1983- February 1997: Investment brokerage. Jeff served at a number of brokerage firms assisting institutional investors in alternative investments. He also covered hedge funds with short-selling research.

June 1977-June 1983: US Naval officer. Jeff served as a Flag Lieutenant and Aide to Commander Naval Base San Diego/San Francisco and as Operations Officer, Navigator, and Communications Officer onboard USS St. Louis (LKA 116).
